In response to continued growth, we are currently seeking a keen and ambitious Hosting Support Engineer to work in a helpdesk/customer support role for our web hosting division Goblin Hosting.
Goblin Hosting provides a full hosting service - Shared Hosting, Virtual Private Servers, Dedicated Servers, Domain Names and SSL Certificates, on Windows and Linux platforms.
As the Hosting Support Engineer you will be responsible for providing front line technical support and a high level of service to new and existing customers with their hosting requirements on Windows and Linux servers.
Your primary role will be resolving technical queries and problems, promptly and effectively, communicating via email, live chat and over the telephone. Support issues will range from the most basic to the more technically challenging with our VPS and dedicated servers. Any issues that cannot be resolved will be passed to our engineers at the data centre.

Due to the 24x7x365 operation of Goblin Hosting, the successful candidate will be required to work shifts, including nights and weekends. Nights and weekends however, if not required in the office, you will be able to work remotely from home, broadband and laptop will be provided. There will also be an on-call requirement (with an allowance in addition to the basic salary and benefits on offer).
To be considered for this position excellent all round IT skills are required. In addition you must have strong experience of Windows Server 2003/2008 and Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian or Fedora).

This role will suit an individual who is committed to providing top quality technical support and able to troubleshoot in a thoughtful and efficient way, in some instances identifying problems with often limited information from the customer. As this is a customer facing role excellent communication skills are a must; you must be able to quickly inspire confidence in others and build rapport with the customer.
For the position of Hosting Support Engineer you must have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience in a technical customer service/technical support environment.
